What sounds so easy-going is a long-distance hike that leads from Schattberg to Schmittenhöhe. You go up and down with the gondolas, and it’s worth getting up early and taking advantage of the early morning ascent at 7:30 am (from Monday to Friday) on the Schattberg X-Press. Stamina is required on the Pinzgau hike, so it’s best to warm up your legs a little.

There are no refreshment stops, so your rucksack should be well-stocked with provisions. Perhaps with a few delicacies from our Wieshofgut breakfast basket? Once you have reached your destination, the Schmittenhöhebahn will take you back down into the valley. There it is worth taking a short detour to the rejuvenating waters of the Zeller See.
